All reports are discussed with you either on site or by phone on completion of the inspection then written and provided on the same day by email, fax or can be picked up from our office and the original posted to you with the invoice.

These inspections are for people who have had their property built by a licenced general builder.

What on
Extension houses and commercial buildings.

Why
To pick up faults prior to final payment to the builder.

What we check
All of the contracted work, standard of finish and fittings and any areas you may be concerned about.

Although this type of inspection is beneficial, it is far better to have progress inspections. This keeps the builder on his toes.


Progress Inspection

These inspections are beneficial for the owner and the builder.

For the owner, the builder is kept in check, therefore, the owner gets a better job and fewer problems later on.

For the builder, I can inform the owner if the concerns are faults or standard building practices. The owner can use us as a sounding board before confronting the builder.

All reports written and copies sent to the owner and builder.

Who For
For people building with licensed builders to ensure that it is being built as per plans, engineering, building codes, council requirements and quality workmanship.

Why
Many builders have very little supervision and don't employ a licensed supervisor, which can cause faults to be overlooked or covered over.

Dispute Mediation

What We Do
We can liase with the builder or contractor and the owner to try to resolve the dispute calmly and promptly. Preferrably without the need for legal action.

Usual Format

  • An inspection is carried out on the work, fault or contract disputed.
  • A report is written giving our observations and opinions.
  • A meeting is arranged with disputing parties to try to resolve the matter.
  • Advice is given on the next steps to take if not resolved.

What We Do
Help from planning through to council compliance certificate.

Usually we carry out a series of inspections consisting of:

  • Excavation and fill (if no engineer involved)
  • Plastic and steel (if no engineer involved)
  • Wall and roof framing
  • Brickwork and roof cladding
  • Internal linings and waterproofing of wet areas on completion

Other inspections can be requested at any time. We also provide a full supervision service if required.
